ABOUT US

Kaci, Founder & Organizer

Kaci Hansen founded the Central Valley Horror Club (the first and only horror-themed organization in Central California) in 2008, and has hosted numerous horror-themed events throughout Central California, including free movie nights and concerts. As an artist, musician, performer, dancer, actress, aspiring filmmaker, and special effects makeup artist with a passion for all things horror, she tries to find as many ways as possible to integrate her love of the genre in with everyday life. Kaci also founded and dances with Central California’s first and only horror-themed dance troupe, The Horror Dolls.

In 2009, Kaci was one of 13 lucky finalists in Fangoria Magazine’s nationwide search for their 2010 Spooksmodel, where she came in first place in the first fan-voting segment of the contest. That year Kaci began working with Comic Book Divas on her very own horror-comic, titled "Kaci Hansen Presents…", as well as featured in the comics "Ginger Stein: Rise of the Undead" and "A Life Behind the Mask". The comics are available for purchase through ComicBookDivas.com

Since the advent of Central Valley Horror Club, Kaci has brought the first Zombie Ball & Crawl, Vampire Ball and Monster Mash to the area. The second-annual Visalia Zombie Ball & Crawl ressurected over 400 zombies! One important goal for Kaci is to not only unite existing local fans of the horror genre, but to hopefully get new fans, by exposing them to movies they may have never seen or heard of. Several people who had once claimed to have hated horror movies are now fans because of the monthly movie nights!

Kaci was a featured guest twice in a row at SacHorror and Sci-Fi Festival in 2009 and 2010, where The Horror Dolls performed and she hosted the costume contest. She also was a featured guest at Sac-Con in 2009. She also received the title of NerdRemix.com's "Horror Hottie of the Month" for March 2011.

Kaci was also featured in hip-hop artist Instant Legend's grindhouse-style music video for his song, "In the Ear".

In 2011, Kaci filmed with director Devanny Pinn for the film "cathARTic", was a major sponsor of the Viscera Film Festival in Hollywood, and recently gave two presentations at the Tulare Kings Mensa Sequoia Regional Meeting.

Sonia, 2010-2011 Creepshow Queen Winner

"You could say it was because I was born in the month of October, or maybe because I found entertainment in classic horror films and literature at an early age that made me appreciate the horror genre. It was not uncommon for me to have my nose stuck in a Alvin Schwartz "Scary Stories" book or reciting Edgar Allen Poe poems. I am supporter of the CVHC since around it's beginnings when Kaci Hansen put on the first Visalia Zombie Ball and Crawl in 2009, where I dressed up as a Zombie Slayer wielding a blood-spattered aluminum baseball bat and walked around shouting things to the "undead", and in the Winter of 2009 showed up to the Visalia Vampire ball with a bloody stake as a Vampire Slayer. In August of 2010, I teamed with photographer Melanie Nelson and created a story and a series of photographs for the first ever Visalia Zombie Ball and Crawl Creepshow Queen Contest of 2010. The photos were gothic...inspired by seances, dark shadows, lost souls and love after death. I was the only contestant that submitted photos taken specifically for the contest, and I transformed myself into a character inspired by women like Carolyn Jones, Yvonne De Carlo, and Angelica Huston. I arrived to the Visalia Zombie Ball and Crawl with Grant Gaddy, who was dressed in a nice suit, a top hat and cane, and we definitely set a pretty high standard for future contestants. At the end of the night, I was crowned the first Visalia Zombie Ball and Crawl Creepshow Queen 2010. Since the contest I've attended the first Visalia Zombie Pub Crawl in which the CVHC dressed as zombies and followed the "12 Bars of Christmas" group from bar to bar. I also attend the CVHC's monthly movie nights, and will be helping with the club's bake sale to raise money for future events including this year's third-annual Visalia Zombie Ball and Crawl 2011. I'm excited about helping Kaci host this event, and I'm excited to see the new candidates for this year's Creepshow Queen contest."
